One Night, One Cause: Cocktail on the Terrace (Touch Foundation)

One Night, One Cause: Cocktail on the Terrace (Touch Foundation)On July 18, hundreds of people mixed and mingled at the beautiful Hudson Terrace nightclub and rooftop to help raise funds to support the effort to train doctors, nurses and other health care workers in Tanzania. Proceeds from the event will also help support the foundation’s effort to help eradicate malaria, a deadly disease that claims the lives of millions of people each year, many of them in sub-Saharan Africa.

Guests had the opportunity to visit the free open bar, sponsored by Patron Spirits, as they strolled down the aisles to place their bid on any one or more of the rare collectibles available in the silent auction. Among the many specialty items up for auction were a beautifully framed Yankees poster autographed by Derrick Jeter, a picture signed by the infamous “Soup Nazi,” and the chance to be “fighter pilot for a day.”

After bidding on one of the many items located on the rooftop guests could opt for a calmer, more mellow atmosphere located just below, in the beautifully lit and spacious nightclub. No matter where you were in the venue, it was clear to see that everyone was having a great time as they mingled, networked and, in some cases two-stepped to the music coming from the DJ’s turntable. It was all smiles as guests also had their pictures taken at the photo installation booth located on the rooftop. One Night, One Cause: Cocktail on the Terrace (Touch Foundation)

One of the biggest surprises of the night was the appearance of Tanzanian supermodel Millen Magese.  Signed to Ford Models, Magese is the first African model to be the face of the Ralph Lauren Campaign. Wearing a beautiful white ensemble, Magese expressed her deepest gratitude to all of those in attendance.  She also expressed the need for continued support for Tanzania and the Touch Foundation.

The Touch Foundation brought people from various backgrounds (lawyers, doctors, entrepreneurs, etc.) together for one cause. On this night the foundation proved that while one person cannot do everything, everyone can do something.
