American TV personality and actress Porsha Williams has responded to reports that her estranged husband, Simon Guobadia, has been detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Guobadia, a Nigerian-born businessman, is reportedly being held at Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, Georgia, according to U.S. Department of Homeland Security records.

Following the news, Williams, 43, addressed the situation in an Instagram post on Friday, calling it “disheartening.”

“It’s disheartening to see my estranged husband make choices that have led to this outcome. At this moment, my priority is moving forward with my family,” she wrote.

Guobadia was detained as part of President Donald Trump’s recent mass deportation initiative, enacted through executive orders following his return to office for a second term.

According to Atlanta’s WSB-TV 2, Guobadia first migrated to the U.S. in 1982 but overstayed his visa, leading to his deportation order in 1985.

He was later arrested multiple times for fraud-related offenses and deported to Nigeria in 1992, though he re-entered the U.S. a month later.

In 2016, Guobadia applied for U.S. citizenship, but his request was denied due to his prior immigration violations. Despite multiple appeals, he has been unable to obtain legal status.

Guobadia and Williams made headlines in May 2021 when they got engaged after just one month of dating publicly. They wed in November 2022 with two extravagant ceremonies.

However, in February 2023, Williams filed for divorce after only a year of marriage.
