During a discussion with fellow singer Karol G on the latest episode of Complex’s GOAT Talk, Selena Gomez made a startling revelation as she said her childhood crush was West Coast rapper and actor Ice Cube, 56.
The former Disney Channel star and Karol G, born Carolina Giraldo Navarro, were mentioning their GOAT rappers when the former disclosed she had a childhood crush on the NWA rapper, Complex reported.
“One of mine was Eminem only because I grew up listening to my dad, who was a DJ. He would remix all kinds of songs, and every time it was an Eminem song I would just get so excited,” Gomez, 32, said.
Karol G also said her GOAT rappers were Eminem and Nicki Minaj, who she collaborated with on their Tusa song.
“But can I tell you my first one that I had a crush on? Ice Cube,” Gomez revealed. “I had the biggest crush on him,” the Come & Get It singer added. “I was, like, five. It’s so weird but I just thought he would protect me … I’m only saying it simply based on my childhood.”

Aside from mentioning their GOAT rappers, the pair also touched on the GOAT dish they would want their respective partners to prepare for them. Gomez’s fiancé is 37-year-old producer and songwriter Benny Blanco, while Karol G, 34, is romantically involved with fellow Colombian singer Feid, 32.
“You like cooking, right?” Karol G asked Gomez. “That’s all Benny,” Gomez responded. “It’s very stressful for me … So let’s leave the guys to do that.”
Gomez said a pot pie would do, and Karol G, on the other hand, said she would prefer a “great, special amazing breakfast.”
“French toast, eggs, bacon, roasted potatoes,” the Colombian singer and Grammy-winner added. “I’m asking [for] too much but … that would be, like, with little flowers and a cute presentation.”
