Cab Calloway

Calloway is behind the 1938 dictionary, which became the official reference book of jive slang in the New York Public Library. The jazz legend, who was a regular at Harlem’s famous Cotton Club, became one of the most popular entertainers of the 1930s and 40s and even appeared on stage and films. He was born on Christmas Day.
