Monkey-orange tree: Although the English name is still unknown, the properties of the wild tree are used by the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Africa. Traditional healers usually use the fruit to treat intestinal ulcers and early stages of diarrhoea. The bark is also used for the traditional treatment of convulsions and mental disorders, although the outcome of treatment does not cure these complications but rather tones them down.
