Sometimes things simply work out, as they did for one The Price Is Right competitor who desperately wanted to win.

As reported by People, the contestant, Antoinette, jumped with excitement when announcer George Gray announced she was playing the game “Pocket Change” to win a 2025 Hyundai Elantra SE. Not only was the episode recorded on Antoinette’s birthday, but she had also lost her car.

“I was just in a car accident,” Antoinette could be heard telling host Drew Carey. “My car was just totaled.”

“Well, let’s win this for you,” the 67-year-old host told her.

However, it wasn’t an easy win because Antoinette had to choose the correct numbers that represented the Hyundai’s retail price in order to complete “Pocket Change.”

If she chose the incorrect number, the car’s “cost” went up by a quarter. Every time she guessed the proper number, she received an envelope off the board. She would win if the envelopes contained the change she needed to “pay” for the car.

Antoinette was able to obtain the Hyundai’s proper retail pricing ($23,715, as seen in the episode), but since she made some incorrect choices along the process, the car’s “cost” increased by $1.25. That meant her envelopes had to contain at least $1.25.

As Carey examined the envelopes one by one, Antoinette told the host about what happened to her car. It was wrecked only a few weeks before the episode was taped.

Antoinette had just $0.90 when Carey opened the first three envelopes. The final envelope was what she finally needed. Fortunately, it contained $0.75, so she easily won the automobile for $1.65.

“Go get your new car!”  Carey told Antoinette as she ran to the Hyundai.

Though Antoinette received the new car she wanted, she was unable to increase her winnings.  According to TV Insider, she did not advance to the final Showcase round by the end of the program.
