The sad story of Ghanaian taxi driver who lost his sight and face in horror acid attack

Isaac Yaw Danquah was 30 years old when two armed robbers attacked him in his taxi at Sarkwa in the Central Region of Ghana.

“I heard one of them say, so what should we do to him?” he recalled the unfortunate night incident in an interview with local Ghanaian media Joy News.

The robbers poured acid on his face, he said, and demanded that he hand over the keys to the taxi to them; but he refused and threw it into a nearby bush.

While in pain and couldn’t see anything around him, the robbers abandoned him to his fate.

It’s been seven years since the horrific incident and Danquah has now been left in a sad state. According to the Joy News report, the acid survivor can no longer see as his eyeballs are gone. His nostrils are also blocked and so he breathes from his mouth.

The worst is he may want to shed tears but due to his condition, he cannot even cry.

Since no one wants to offer him a job, Danquah now depends heavily on his mother who is also deaf in one ear. His father passed away some years after the incident, he said. His wife-to-be also refused to marry him due to his condition.

Danquah is now seeking help to enable him to undergo surgery to rebuild his looks which have been destroyed by the dreadful incident.
