Morocco was 75th on the list having scored 60.0 to place third in Africa. Officially gaining independence from the French protectorate on March 2, 1956, Morocco brought an end to the Fes Treaty concluded on March 30, 1912. The North African country has placed a high premium on tourism as a strategic industry for the growth and sustainability of its economy. It was recently listed as the most preferred destination for tourists in North Africa.
