Sizakele Petunia Mzimela

Sizakele Petunia Mzimela, a South African businesswoman who made history in 2015 as the first black woman to launch her own airline.

Called Fly Blue Crane, the airline started operations on September 15 at the O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg to destinations in South Africa.

However, things didn’t turn out as Mzimela had planned and the airline had to stop operations in 2016, a year after its launch.
