After church service on September 24, 2017, a lone assailant entered the Burnette Chapel Church of Christ in Antioch, Tennessee and shot eight churchgoers. One died.
Jeremiah Reese moved fast and barricaded himself and others in a room using chairs and couches.
He iterated to the Tennessean, “I didn’t know if this guy was dead or if my family was still alive.”
Reese’s mother was also in attendance at the church but was unharmed.
