Lena Horne

Lena was a star in her own rights during her time and an ardent Civil Rights advocate. She was into music, film, stage and television.

She was singing for WWII soldiers when she refused to perform “for segregated audiences or for groups in which German POWs were seated in front of African-American servicemen.”
