Mia Arianna, also known as @mia.ariannaa on TikTok, helped her son become an honorary team member at a Target store in Huntersville after her videos of him became a hit. Azai, a one-year-old, was allowed to join the Target staff after his mother uploaded recordings of her toddler’s enthusiasm for welcoming customers at the store.
On April 26, the mother and son received an invitation to visit Target’s Huntersville location, where Azai was allowed to work as an honorary team member for the morning.
The kid, who made waves greeting consumers during his visits, had plenty of time to assist the crew in saying hello to customers throughout the store. He even participated in the morning team meeting with the group, listening intently and pleasantly and offering his opinions on the day’s agenda.
His job was to go through the toy department’s inventory. His mother, Arianna, told People some months earlier, “Azai started showing signs of being super social when he was about 6 months old. He would just crawl around, saying hi to everyone. He also would let anybody pick him up. He’s never been afraid of strangers.”
She continued by saying that the family’s neighborhood Target provided the young social butterfly with many chances to spread joy. Arianna had no idea that the videos she made for her loved ones about Azai saying hello to people at Target would become so popular.
She recounted, “I was actually never big on posting my son. I posted it just for fun and once it went viral, I decided to just keep it going from there. Seeing his videos go viral is priceless because this is Azai every day and I’m glad the world can see how special he is. He is a ball of love.”
But Azai had more surprises than just becoming an honorary employee on April 26. He received a $500 Target gift card shopping spree as a gift from the Huntersville Target store crew.
In honor of Azai, the company also donated $10,000 to Classroom Central, a Charlotte-based organization that provides free school supplies to thousands of teachers every year.
The proud mother expressed that seeing how many people appreciate her son “really makes my day.”
