Farhat Hached

He was one of the leaders of the Tunisian national movement, a pro-independence movement that resisted French imperialism and championed the cause for independence. Hached was assassinated by French intelligence services on December 5, 1952. The announcement of his assassination triggered protests and riots across Tunisia and other Muslim and Arab cities.
