We sure do miss the salon and having our hair in a protective style like box braids, the all-time go-to style for almost every black woman. A trip to our favorite hairdresser to whip some beautiful braids onto our scalps is all most of us yearn for but our lives are far more important than protecting our hair.

We would not want to jeopardize our lives and that of the stylist because of social distancing and all. With that being said, we can still order our kanekalon hair and whip our hair into box braids by ourselves.

Yep, this is the season to try new things so get your kanekalon hair, mirror, tail comb ready for a quick tutorial that will change your braid game and keep your hair protected.

The tendency to neglect our hair while self-isolating is real; some have gone three weeks without combing their hair! That is a big no-no for your tresses which deserve all the love and protection, especially during this quarantine season.

Caring for your hair when in braids is way simpler than having your hair out. Some prefer jumbo box braids while others want medium or regular. The length is also of the wearer’s preference. Some go with the bob while others opt for the floor-sweeping braids. Have fun and experiment sistas!

Whichever your preference, you can still do your own box braids by increasing or reducing the amount of kanekalon hair used during each braid.
