Maasai Mara and the Coast, Kenya
Kenya’s landscape is arguably one of the most sweeping in Africa. This equatorial destination is also well known as the home of the safari experience. Enter the Maasai Mara, and this wonderful national park in the country’s Great Rift Valley is a gem for wildlife viewing with a perfect shot at the Big Five.
The wildebeest migration season is at its peak from July to November, but game viewing can still carry on excellently in December. Other fun activities include camping, bush dinners, ballooning, visiting Maasai villages, and game drives at night.
Away from the Mara, we journey south to the country’s coast. Its mainland and islands, such as the city of Mombasa, have riveting sandy beaches, providing a fantastic time of snorkeling, water skiing, and wind surfing in the hot sun. Must-go-to destinations include Diani Beach, Shimba Hills National Reserve, Watamu, Malindi, the Arabuko Sokoke National Park, and the Gede Ruins. Its Swahili heritage adds to the enjoyable experience.
