Late Ugandan artist Mowzey Radio

Ugandans are mourning the death of musician Mowzey Radio, real name Moses Ssekibogo, who passed away in the capital Kampala in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The 33-year-old who is part of the globally acclaimed Ugandan music duo, Goodlyfe Crew, died at a private hospital where he was being treated after a reported bar brawl two weeks ago.

The Tambula Nange or “Walk with Me” hitmaker died just hours after Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni donated $8,300 towards his medical bills.

Five people have so far been arrested in connection with his death.

A requiem mass was held on Friday at Rubaga Cathedral for the repose of the soul of the late musician. Hundreds of fans, relatives and friends filled the church to pay their respect.

People in Uganda and fans all over the world have since been pouring out their heartfelt condolences on social media.
