Brawl in South Africa’s parliament
In February 2017, the South African parliament put the country into shame as opposition politicians tried to stop former President Jacob Zuma from addressing the chamber. They repeatedly insulted him and declared him not fit for office and these scenes occurred live on national television. Security was called in to maintain order. This came on the back of a similar incident in 2015 when Zuma was disrupted by the opposition while giving his state of the nation address after his re-election. The opposition lawmakers began challenging Zuma about some corruption allegations and this ensued in a brawl that got many injured.
