It can be awkward when you forget a friend’s name. Even more so when you misname a Jonas Brother multiple times and he corrects you on camera.

Jazmin Anderson met none other than singer-songwriter Kevin Jonas while working her shift at Waffle House about two years ago.

She saw the celebrity enter and request a table. However, because the restaurant was crowded at the time, Jonas and his friends had to wait a little while before being seated.

After some time, the 37-year-old and his group were escorted to a seat and given their meal orders. According to 31-year-old Anderson, she and Jonas spoke for 25 minutes throughout the meal about his career, even his part in Camp Rock.

As they spoke, Anderson continued to call him his 35-year-old brother and bandmate, Joe Jonas, but Kevin remained silent.

However, as they were wrapping up, Anderson made the bold decision to ask if she could take a photo or record a video with Jonas before he departed.

He agreed. But when she tried to record, Anderson made the most awkward mistake.

She told People, “I started the video and said I was with Joe Jonas, thinking I was. I thought that because when I first addressed him, I called him Joe, and he responded, so I was mistaken.”

“I was mortified,” she added, noting how during their conversation she kept referring to him as Joe, and he didn’t correct her until she pulled out her camera.

“He reacted very well and was very nice about it. He said, ‘We all look alike,’ and it’s okay to get mixed up.”

Anderson recently chose to upload the video on TikTok, and she was surprised when it went viral. At first, she was anxious since she knew that over 3.6 million people had seen her mistake, but she was glad that she could make people smile.

Even though this encounter occurred a few years ago, Anderson said that she is still embarrassed by it and that it has kept her up at night.

“Don’t take life too seriously and learn to tell the Jonas Brothers apart,” she joked. “Kevin said they’d shoot the ‘Waffle House’ music video with us, and I think I ruined those chances by not knowing his name!”

The Jonas Brothers’ song “Waffle House” is partially about dining at the restaurant. The song’s video was not shot at an actual Waffle House, but rather in London, featuring locations like St. John Square in Islington and the Royal Albert Hall.
