“Abbott Elementary” creator and Emmy award-winner Quinta Brunson has filed for divorce from her husband after three and a half years of marriage.

According to TMZ, Brunson, who also co-writes and stars in the popular sitcom television series, filed the legal documents to end her marriage to Kevin Anik in the Los Angeles County Superior Court. She stated that it was because of irreconcilable differences.

Brunson, 35, in the legal documents stated that she and Anik, who is a sales agent, have signed a postnuptial agreement. She therefore wants the court to use that agreement to determine who gets what in property allocation.

Brunson and Anik have largely kept their relationship away from the public eye. They married in 2021 after getting engaged the year prior, and they share no children. She, however, gave him props in 2022 when she won the Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series for Abbott Elementary.

“I need to thank my wonderful husband because he’s the most supportive man I’ve ever known,” she said at the time.

During a 2024 interview on Live with Kelly and Mark, Brunson opened up about her life before fame. According to PEOPLE, she recalled folding jeans—a skill she admits she was terrible at—at American Eagle.

However, she stumbled upon something she excelled at, saying, “I worked as a dance teacher for many years after school. And I worked at the Apple Store. I was at the Genius Bar, but I was an FRS [Family Room Specialist] so I would fix phones, iPods, and iPads.”

Brunson continued, “Computers were for the big boys.” She clarified, though, that she can still “do a thing or two” with an iPhone, and she even assists her castmates at Abbott Elementary with their gadgets. “I help Sheryl [Lee Ralph] all the time on the show and Lisa [Ann Walter],” she was quoted as saying.

In an interview with Adam Scott for Variety Studio: Actors on Actors, Brunson quipped, “My publicist told me to stop talking about it,” referring to her former Apple Store job.

The young celebrity has worked her way to her current level of success, gaining recognition and popularity. Janelle James, another cast member, asserted that Brunson’s involvement in the series helped her develop close relations with her co-stars off-screen.
