It was an unforgettable experience for American singer Beyoncé when legend Diana Ross decided to celebrate the 42nd birthday of Beyoncé with a surprise appearance on stage at the Renaissance World Tour show in Los Angeles. Ross captivated the audience with a dazzling rendition of “Happy Birthday”.
The 79-year-old legend caught fans by surprise when she joined the scheduled intermissions of the Renaissance World Tour in front of 60,000 enthusiastic attendees. Normally, Beyoncé’s backup singers perform the transition with Ross’ 1976 hit “Love Hangover” serving as an interlude. However, this time, Ross personally took the stage to delight the audience, according to Billboard.
Following her performance, Ross received an emotional hug from Beyoncé on stage. Ross then led the crowd at SoFi Stadium, including stars like Adele, Lizzo, Katy Perry, Normani, Brandy, Chris Rock, Kim Kardashian, and celebrity couples like Justin and Hailey Bieber, Zendaya and Tom Holland, in a rendition of “Happy Birthday” for the pop star. Additionally, fans noticed Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner sharing a kiss in the audience, adding to the star-studded atmosphere.
Ross wasn’t the only special guest at Beyoncé’s Sunday night show. Kendrick Lamar also made a surprise appearance, joining Beyoncé to perform “America Has a Problem” and delivering a rare live rendition of his verse from the song’s remix released in May.
Beyoncé delivered an emotional birthday speech during the show, expressing gratitude to her fans, family, and former Destiny’s Child bandmates for their profound influence on her life. Fighting back tears, she shared her thankfulness for being alive, performing on stage, and connecting with her audience. Beyoncé also emphasized her appreciation for music as a means of self-healing and providing a safe space for her fans to heal through her music.
