A 17-year-old student from Nigeria has been declared the official Guinness World Record holder for most skips on one foot in 30 seconds.
Philip Solomon from Oyemekun Grammar School in Akure, in south-western Ondo State, achieved this record on January 24 when he recorded 153 skips on one foot in 30 seconds. This feat surpassed the last record set by Rasel Islam of Bangladesh in 2021, who recorded 145 skips.
Guinness World Records officially confirmed Solomon’s record on Tuesday, four months after the schoolboy’s attempt.
“Philip was inspired by the previous holder of this record title Rasel Islam after seeing a video of their record attempt,” Guinness World Records said in a statement on its website. “He has been training to achieve the record and was honoured to attend a skipping world championship.”
