Proposing to that special someone and having her say the magic three-letter word – Yes – is one of the highlights of every romantic relationship.

An emotional moment with attention given to detail, people decide to pop the question in either simple or ingenious ways, and thanks to social media, we get to witness some of these amazing moments.

Just recently, a lovely South African couple made national attention when a video of the man “proposing” at a KFC went viral.

The video, which shows the man on a knee doing the needful, was subsequently shared by the popular fast-food chain and has since been retweeted over 20,000 times.

Just like a blessing in disguise, the fast-food chain, as well as, other people, offered the couple a wedding of their lifetime.

From offers of a free performance on the big day, to free chauffeuring services to their honeymoon destination, the couple were showered with a smorgasbord of free goodies.

Speaking to SowetanLIVE, the couple, Hector Mkansi and Nonhlanhla Soldaat, revealed they were already married. Hector, however, said he “proposed” to her again because he wasn’t really feeling the first rings he got for their 2012 wedding.

“I don’t work so I didn’t have enough cash to give wife Nonhlanhla a befitting wedding/jewellery but wanted to do something small,” he said.

“Thank you South Africa. Your kindness has truly warmed us. We would have never imagined that our love story would have touched so many of you,” they added.

Though they have requested for time to soak everything in and also decide on when to renew their vows, their lovely moment earned them the title of South Africa’s new favorite couple.
