Tracy McBride’s dream came true when she finally arrived as a contestant for the Wheel of Fortune show on Friday after trying to get on for 28 years.
Since she was twenty years old, the Greenville mother had been attempting to go on the show, she revealed to Pat Sajak, the host of the program.
“Periodically, I would update my information, and I’m here through faith and perseverance; I made it,” McBride recounted as the studio audience cheered, to which the host joked that he had also been waiting for her arrival, according to TV Insider.
In the end, McBride defeated her opponents to take home $13,348 in cash and a trip to the Bahamas. She also secured a spot in the Bonus round and selected the notorious “Phrase” category. She succeeded without breaking a sweat, finishing as soon as the timer started.
The presenter disclosed that she had won a brand-new Ford Edge SEL, valued at $41,420, when he opened the prize envelope, bringing her total winnings and cash to $54,768.
