Lovers of African fashion might have heard of the much-discussed proposal to launch a“Vogue Africa” magazine. The proposal was initiated by Cameroonian fashion photographer, hairstylist and make-up artist, Mario Epanya.
Epanya shot a series of beautiful mock magazine covers, which he sent to Conde Nast, major publishing company and owner of Vogue. Conde Nast, however, rejected it.
Epanya has moved on from his vision of Vogue Africa and has created a new magazine dedicated to showcasing African beauty. From the stunning editorial shots featuring women of all shades, including other races, and the tastefully done semi-nude shots of models, it is safe to say that “Winkler” will join the ranks of top online African fashion magazines like “Fashizblack,” “Ghubar,” and more. Vogue Africa what? It’s all about Winkler now!
