A Florida man who was arrested for burglary temporarily put his predicament aside during his virtual February 4 bail hearing by trying to flirt with the judge albeit unsuccessful.
In the video of the incident, the suspect, identified as Demetrius Lewis, is seen exchanging pleasantries with Judge Tabitha Blackmon before adorning her with praises and attempting to get in her good books.
“How you doing how you doing?” a handcuffed Lewis says in the video after Judge Blackmon mentions his name.
“Alright, I’m good sir; how are you?” she replies. Lewis then goes ahead to shoot his shot. “Judge, you [are] so gorgeous, so gorgeous judge, I just had to tell you. You’re gorgeous,” he says. “I love you. I love you.”
Although a smiling Blackmon thanks Lewis for his compliments, she tells him it won’t help his case. “Alright Mr. Lewis. Flattery will get you everywhere,” she is heard telling him. “But maybe not here.”
Lewis previously served a four-year prison sentence for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and was released in 2019, New York Post reported. During his recent hearing, a prosecutor said he allegedly tried breaking into a home that had three children inside at the time. He was also caught in possession of the banned drug, Ecstacy.
Judge Blackmon set his bail at $5,000. Take a look at the video below:
