American actress Zoe Saldana stunned at the 4th Annual Celebration of Latino Cinema and Television in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
The 46-year-old actress turned heads in a blue satin dress that featured a halterneck cowl neckline, a backless design, and a flared skirt. She completed her look on the day with black strappy stiletto heels and accessorized it with a cluster of rings, as per an RCFA report.
During the event, Saldana received the Groundbreaker Award for her leading role in the Netflix film ‘Emilia Perez’ at the Egyptian Theatre, as the celebration honors outstanding contributions from Latino talent in both onscreen and offscreen roles.
This appearance comes after Saldana and co-star Selena Gomez continue their press tour for the upcoming film, with anticipation building ahead of its release.
The actress wore a floor-length grey bodycon dress and layered gold necklaces, with her honey-brown hair styled in loose curls that dropped down over her shoulders.
She was often seen in high spirits, frequently chatting with co-stars and some fans who appeared at the event.
According to a Netflix press release, the film centers around “an underrated lawyer (Saldana) working for a large law firm which is more focused on getting criminals out of jail than bringing them to justice, who is hired by the leader of a criminal organization.”
Gomez stars as Jessi Del Monte, the wife of a cartel member, alongside Édgar Ramírez and Adriana Paz.
Back in September, Zoe Saldana opened up about her role as Rita Mora Castro at the Telluride Film Festival and touched specifically on how excited she was to participate in the project.
“I heard about this movie and the journey these women were on, their yearning for freedom… It’s entangled in a story that challenges me to find sympathy for them and for this world,” she said. “These are characters that sometimes seem unredeemable, and that made me want to take on this role.”
Emilia Perez is set to premiere on Netflix on November 13, and the R-rated musical, directed by French screenwriter Jacques Audiard, features both English and Spanish dialogue.
Many fans are keenly awaiting its arrival, knowing it is heavily likely to live up to their expectations.
