Conservative American actor and comedian Terrence K. Williams has won praises on social media after he tweeted that he is not an African American because he has never been to the continent.
The Pizza Joint, Tactical Girl and Tango Down actor lashed out at a Twitter user who reacted to his show of support for U.S. President Donald Trump by asking: “An African American supporting Trump,” with a palm on face emoji.

“I’m not an African American I never been to Africa. Call me a Black American or Just an American supporting Trump [sic],” he tweeted his reply on Wednesday generating a lot of praises from Trump supporters who flooded his replies with their views.
Been saying this for 20 years exactly the same. I’ve never been to Africa, as a black American I’m ethnically diverse and more than 5 generations removed.

I Agee! We are all just Americans. Calling ourselves anything creates opportunities for division. We should all be fighting on the same team with our fellow Americans to protect America, our citizens and our borders! #MAGA

Williams is a well-known supporter of Trump and his policies. As a pro-Trump commentator, he has attracted a lot of criticism from liberals and last year, he was temporarily suspended on Facebook for posting screenshots of abuse and ridicule he received on the platform.
Williams accused Facebook of targeting minority conservatives as they took no action after reporting hate messages he received but rather deleted his posts on the grounds of “bullying private individuals.”
President Trump’s actions have been described as racist and sometimes divisive especially when it comes to immigration and social policies. Last year, Williams joined Trump to condemn Colin Kaepernick and Nike’s ‘Just Do it’ campaign which featured the anti-police brutality athlete turned activist as one of its main faces.
He claimed Kaepernick has done nothing honourable to get recognition but rather disrespect the country for kneeling during the anthem.
Another conservative Trump supporter is rapper Kanye West who has also expressed divergent views from those of a majority of African Americans towards Trump and his policies.
