It’s been 868 days since the Obamas left the White House and several people are not yet over it. However, their appearances, every now and then, offer great compensation. After taking time off to relax and enjoy their own company privately, Michelle and Barack Obama are back in the media, making boss moves that might just earn them a place on the Forbe’s Billionaires list soon.
The former POTUS and FLOTUS have signed a major media deal with streaming music giant Spotify that will see them create podcasts for their millions of followers on issues strongly connected to the black community and its growth.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the deal is a step in the right direction as the power couple plan to expand media production under their production company, Higher Ground.
The podcasts will be created exclusively for Stockholm-based Spotify’s global platform and this is expected to be a very profitable deal for the couple. Although figures for the deal have been kept under wraps, the profits can be seen with the 100 million paying subscribers and more than 217 million monthly active users that Spotify already boasts of.
News about the new deal has left thousands of people super excited and already hungry for the podcasts, as it has been disclosed that the couple will not only develop and produce podcasts but also lend their voices for some as well.
Both Obama’s and Spotify are not new to the podcast movement making the wait for their works harder.
While we wait, we can pick up a copy of Michelle Obama’s book Becoming which joins several other books as the best seller for the year and the decade. The former FLOTUS just ended her successful book tour which gave fans a peek into the everyday life of Michelle before and after marrying her husband and becoming the first lady of the U.S.
