When Barack Obama made history in 2008 as the first African-American president of the United States, he was hailed around the world for the very obvious reasons.
It was also a moment in history that got the black race extremely proud. There were surely a lot of things that people looked to his presidency for and whether or not those things were eventually done for them; it still does not rob history of the fact that such a fine man ever ruled as president of America.
