Models, designers, and make-up artists, get ready for the latest entry in to Africa’s fashion showcase scene: Africa International Fashion Week (AIFW). The latest in a series of shows designed to elevate Africa’s fashion industry, AIFW is focused on broadening and growing the conversation about fashion on the continent. Based in Nigeria, it’ll be interesting to see if AIFW can replace the juggernaut that was Arise Fashion Week and continue the momentum started by that institution.

Key developments in the announcement include the first-ever “Africa Young Designer of the Year” award and the “New Talent Search Project,” a platform meant to encourage young and passionate designers to discover their talents and launch them in to the wide world of fashion.
AIFW will take place on October 2 – 4. Registration is now open for designers and exhibitors on the AIFW website.
