Assassination attempts are not new in the political space. It is a tool often resorted to by political opponents and their cohorts to eliminate political figures, in particular.

Every government across the globe is a possible target of assassination or attacks hence the reason they invest a great deal in security.

Leaders who suffer such attempts are mostly unpopular or leaders who go against the will of the international community. Despite the successes of some of the attempts, others have also failed.
