Two teens who attended prom together on Friday night sadly passed away in a car crash after the event. According to AL.com, the fatal crash occurred at Tuscaloosa in the wee hours of Saturday morning.

The victims, identified as 18-year-old Samuel Brown and Madison Sims, 17, were riding in a Tesla when the vehicle hit a semi-truck and got pinned below its trailer. Two other teens who were also in the vehicle sustained injuries. Brown was driving the vehicle, while Sims was in the front passenger seat.

The deceased teens were both student-athletes at their respective schools. Brown attended R.C. Hatch High School where he played football. “To say we will miss him would be an understatement,” Hatch High School shared in a Facebook post.

Sims, on the other hand, was a track athlete at Bryant High School. “We extend our most sincere condolences to the Brown and Sims family,” the Perry County school district shared. “We ask that you please keep everyone in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate the days ahead together.”

Meanwhile, police said one of the teens who survived the crash suffered serious injuries, while the other sustained minor injuries and were both transported to the hospital for treatment shortly after the accident.
