Angel Rich-Jones, a graduate of Hampton University, has received the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from President Joe Biden in recognition of her exemplary leadership and service, making her the youngest African American graduate of an HBCU to do so.
The awards are annually held to celebrate those “who exhibit outstanding character, work ethic, and dedication to their communities,” according to Black News.
“I am thankful to the administration to receive such a prestigious award at such a young age,” said Angel, who Forbes has dubbed the Next Steve Jobs and is regarded as one of the world’s top financial experts.
“There are significantly more DEI mountains to climb, financial freedom battles to win, and technology wars to conquer for just as many accomplishments behind me. I am blessed to have passion and vision from God to lead my work, company, and communities where we aim to make a big change,” she added.
In addition to being the author of the best-selling book, History of the Black Dollar, Angel is the creator of the AI FinTech app, CreditRich – a company that rounds up users’ spare change to pay their bills intelligently and quickly improves their credit scores. The 36-year-old is a wealth pioneer; in the past two years, she also established the first Black neo-bank, as well as the first Black strategic alliance with a credit bureau.
This Juneteenth, the Reverend Dr. George Holmes of Matthew Memorial Baptist Church in Washington, DC, hosted the presentation of the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award.
For her commitment to the community and desire to change lives through financial literacy, Angel, according to Holmes, received the award from Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden. According to Holmes, “Angel has a profound amount of knowledge about entrepreneurship and wealth building that the country can benefit from.”
Early next year, Angel’s AI Fintech company will introduce its CreditRich Visa Signature Debit Cards and host ‘The Gift of Credit Celebrity Charity Concert.’
Aside from being the president of the #BlackTechMatters PAC, which advocates for equality in employment, education, and entrepreneurship, Angel proudly serves on the boards of Bowie State University and 757 Angels in addition to her business.
Her founding of the WealthyLife Foundation, which provides millions of people with access to financial literacy through games, classes, online courses, and other means, is another joy she cherishes.
The Department of Education, JP Morgan Chase, and the Obama White House all named WealthyLife as the best financial literacy business in the nation.
When Angel was younger, she co-authored the first study on the financial experiences of African Americans and oversaw the Veterans Initiative Research Study for President Obama while working at Prudential. Angel, a proud HillVets graduate who enjoys helping the community and country, comes from a long line of veterans.
More than 300 eminent public and private organizations have benefited from Angel’s assistance in advancing DEI initiatives, developing thought leadership, and preserving national security.
