Rap sensation Megan Thee Stallion has signed a new deal with Warner Music Group (WMG) while still being independent. According to Billboard, Megan collaborated with Warner Music Group for the distribution of her future releases and she gets to retain ownership of her music while leveraging WMG’s infrastructure.

Rhyme Junkie noted that the deal which marks a significant milestone in her already stellar is set to catapult the “Savage” hitmaker to new heights and solidify her position as a leading figure in the hip-hop industry.

Hiphopdx reported that Megan’s team will consist of employees at 300 Entertainment, whom she worked with as part of her previous deal. The 28-year-old rapper recently put the legal battle between her and her former label to rest after an agreement.

NME noted that the “WAP” singer first filed a lawsuit in 2020 alleging that the label was preventing her from releasing new music after she attempted to renegotiate parts of her contract, which the label refused.

She filed a separate lawsuit against 1501, claiming it was attempting to keep her locked into a contract by not acknowledging her recent “Something For Thee Hotties” compilation as an album.

Lawyers representing 1501 Certified Entertainment announced that both parties involved had “mutually reached a confidential settlement to resolve their legal differences,” marking her official release from a deal she once described as “unconscionable.”

The statement read, “Both Megan and 1501 are pleased to put this matter behind them and move forward with the next chapter of their respective businesses.”

Meanwhile, the exact terms of the settlement have not been disclosed. Megan recently revealed that she is officially without a label and now a free agent.
