Christmas is the Christian celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ observed annually on December 25. Most people join in the celebrations with large-scale gatherings, fireworks and firecrackers, and other public festivities.
While it is largely becoming a secular holiday, it is traditionally a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, hence several people, due to religious differences, would not want to commemorate the season.
