Authorities in Florida said an 18-year-old woman was eating and Facetiming with her friends at her home when her estranged boyfriend fatally shot her before he turned the gun on himself. According to The Palm Beach Post, the fatal March 6 incident occurred at a residence in Lake Mangonia.

The victim, identified as Kelvi Latrice McCray, and her ex-boyfriend, Keisean Woodrow Shaw, broke up in January, West Palm Beach police said. But the pair were still staying together as Shaw, 19, did not have another place to move to.

Police said one of the friends McCray was Facetiming with saw Shaw opening fire on the victim, adding that she then called 911. Responding officers noticed McCray had been shot in the head, neck and back. Shaw had also suffered a gunshot wound to the head when he was located in the living room. Investigators said Shaw opened fire on himself after shooting his ex-girlfriend.

McCray later succumbed to her injuries after she and Shaw were transported to the hospital. Police said Shaw, who was still alive, was ultimately charged with first-degree murder the morning after the shooting. But he later died while on admission at the hospital. He is said to have passed away the day he was charged.

Police said a countywide alert was issued for Shaw a day before the shooting, The Palm Beach Post reported. That was after McCray reported him to police for threatening her at gunpoint.
