A year after the birth of their first set of twins, Angelia Tutt, and her husband, Elliott McNeil, received their second set in March.
The 29-year-old mother said she was certain she and her husband, who already have a 6-year-old daughter and 13-month-old twin sons, would be having a second daughter this time, thus, the North Carolina couple were both surprised to learn she was pregnant again with twins rather than just one.
She told ‘Good Morning America’, “I had dreams that I was holding a girl with little pink bows. I was ready. I was picking out girl names and everything.”
“It was definitely a surprise. We both expected just one baby and then when they called and told me that it was twins again, I literally froze on the phone call … and I just started crying. It was happy tears but I was just shocked.”
Tutt said that her mother had two sets of twins, including her and her fraternal twin brother, and that both her grandmother and great-grandmother also had twins.
On March 3, at the Cone Health Women’s & Children’s Center at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina, Tutt gave birth to her second set of fraternal twins, Kendrick and Kairo, via a cesarean section.
Even at the hospital, other twin hospital staff, including her doctor, a nurse, and a respiratory therapist, took care of Tutt and her twins.
After two weeks in the neonatal intensive care unit, the boys, who weighed five pounds and eight ounces, finally arrived home.
She remarked, “They’ve been adapting pretty well. I’m pretty sure they are trying to figure out what the loud noises [are] with the other kids.”
Despite her hectic schedule, a full house, and the routine of doing everything twice, the mother of five expects that “it’s just going to be an adventure with them.”
