Snoop Dogg is spilling the beans on his love for handbags. In a new episode of Vogue’s In the Bag series, the 52-year-old rapper revealed what he’s been carrying around at the Paris Summer Olympics, where he’s serving as a special correspondent for NBC.
Before diving into the contents of his large red and white tote bag, adorned with his stage name and the Olympics logo, Snoop excitedly spoke about his extensive collection of bags.
“I love bags, backpacks, handbags, tote bags,” he said. “I’m not gonna call it a man purse ’cause it ain’t. I think I got less than a thousand, more than five hundred.”
Snoop revealed his enduring passion for collecting bags, a tradition he’s continuing at the Paris Summer Olympics, according to People.
“I went to the Olympic training facility yesterday and I left with a couple of bags,” he shared. The “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper’s everyday bag essentials include perfume, an Xbox controller, Biscoff cookies, an iPad, and jewelry.
The hip-hop legend’s style remains one of his standout features.
“It’s all about the outfit,” he told Vogue while wearing a red, white and blue tracksuit. “The bag and the outfit has to coordinate. Everything has to go together. One thing about me is everything has to be uniform. It has to feel like it’s together. If you notice this bag and this suit, they go together.”
At the Olympic events, Snoop has captured attention with custom T-shirts showcasing popular Team USA athletes, including gymnast Simone Biles and tennis star Coco Gauff.
“We‘re giving Snoop Dogg’s shirt a perfect 10,” NBC Sports captioned a video of him in his Biles shirt on Sunday, July 28.
The day after Snoop sported a custom T-shirt featuring Gauff, the tennis star gave a shoutout to the rapper on Instagram Stories, praising his fashion sense.
