Jordan Chiles may have lost her Olympic bronze medal, but Flavor Flav is stepping in with a unique replacement—a bronze clock.
After Chiles was stripped of her floor competition medal at the Paris Games, Flav took to X to offer her a cool consolation prize.
Flav, who sponsored the USA women’s water polo team and became a notable figure at this year’s Olympics, promised on social media to craft Chiles a one-of-a-kind clock chain after she lost her Olympic bronze medal.
“Hit me up my girl,” he added. “I gotchu,!!!”
After a few hours, Flav unveiled a custom-bronze necklace he made for the athlete in a video. Under the clip, he captioned: “USA gonna Fight the Powers that be,,, in the meantime between time,,, Imma always a man of my word @ChilesJordan.”
Chiles has yet to publicly respond to Flav’s offer, likely due to the ongoing controversy surrounding her.
Her initial score of 13.666 in the August 5 event was increased by one-tenth of a point after a challenge by her coaches, bumping her from fifth to third place and earning her the bronze medal.
The International Olympic Committee stripped Chiles of her bronze medal after a review found her coaches challenged the judges’ decision four seconds too late.
The medal has since been awarded to Romanian gymnast Ana Barbosu.
An appeal is underway, leaving a chance for Chiles to reclaim the medal. Flav’s offer of a custom clock chain might help soften the disappointment.
