Migos rapper Quavo must fork out almost $700,000 to pay a former Las Vegas Strip hotel employee he slapped during an altercation in 2018. Per 8 News Now, the rapper, whose real name is Quavious Keyate Marshall, was ordered by a jury to pay Antonio Henry $682,000 in compensatory and punitive damages for his actions.

The verdict was reached after Henry claimed that he suffered physical and emotional injuries as a result of being slapped by the Walk It Talk It rapper. But during the closing arguments, Quavo’s attorney, William Briggs II, claimed that Henry did not sustain any injuries from being slapped, adding that the plaintiff was just in search of a “hip-hop lotto ticket” from his client.

“They are seeking a massive award of money,” Briggs told the court. “I don’t know about you, but to me, $800,000 is a lot of money. I think it’s a lot of money to a lot of people. And Mr. Henry cannot establish that he was injured by that single slap. Had my client wanted to harm, injure or hurt Mr. Henry, he would have punched him, not slapped him.”

But Henry’s attorney, Joel Hengstler, said that was not the case, arguing that the incident rather resulted in Henry being “fundamentally changed” as he was previously a “happy, healthy man.”

“The fact that this is about money is only because we can’t go back in time,” Hengstler said. “We can’t have Mr. Marshall act with kindness instead. This is our only remedy here. But it’s not a lottery.”

The verdict being reached comes after Quavo was charged with battery after he got involved in a physical altercation with a valet worker at the Encore Hotel and Casino in 2018, TMZ reported. The incident is said to have occurred after the rapper and his crew were told to move their vehicles because an ambulance was coming to the location. But things escalated during the incident.
