NBA legend LeBron James has publicly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris only days before Election Day, insisting “the choice is clear.”
On Thursday night, James posted a video on X that featured a compilation of offensive remarks from former President Donald Trump, along with his message: “What are we even talking about here?? When I think about my kids and my family and how they will grow up, the choice is clear to me. VOTE KAMALA HARRIS!!!”
The video includes soundbites of Trump’s controversial comments over the years, including a warning that the U.S. would “end up like Detroit” if Harris were elected.
It also shows Trump describing undocumented immigrants as “poisoning the blood of our country”, and concludes with the phrase, “Hate takes us back.”

James now joins a list of high-profile endorsements for Harris, who has also gained support from celebrities like Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
James has supported Democratic candidates in previous election cycles, including Hillary Clinton back in 2016, and has frequently criticized Trump during his presidency, according to CNN.
In one notable instance, King James called Trump a “bum” after the former U.S. President publicly disinvited NBA star Stephen Curry from visiting the White House.
Also, in 2020, the NBA star addressed Trump’s criticism of athletes who knelt during the national anthem after the killing of George Flyod and urged voters to “see what leadership we have at the top of our country” and to participate in the election.
In the same year, he founded More Than A Vote, an organization dedicated to combatting voter suppression and promoting voter engagement, especially in Black communities.
The group recruited thousands of poll workers in primarily Black districts and also aided Floridians with outstanding fees and fines related to felony convictions so that they could register to vote.
LeBron James celebrated President Joe Biden’s victory in 2020 and has continued to advocate for voting rights amid a wave of GOP-led bills restricting voter access. His organization has mobilized Black voters in off-year and municipal elections.
As Election Day approaches, both the Harris and Trump campaigns are leveraging celebrity endorsements to energize voters.
