Trey Songz has been ordered to pay more than $11 million in damages to Tyrelle Dunn, a Maryland Capitol police officer.

The ruling comes from a battery case filed last year, in which Dunn alleged he was injured while trying to rescue his wife from Songz’s hotel room in 2021.

In November 2021, the chart-topper was accused of misconduct during his 37th birthday celebration in Las Vegas. According to a lawsuit, the “Bottoms Up” singer brought a group of women to his hotel room at The Cosmopolitan, as reported by TMZ.

The Maryland Capitol police officer claimed his wife was among the women and she screamed for help, alleging she was being held against her will.

He explained that when he attempted to help his wife, who he claimed was being held against her will in Songz’s hotel room, he was attacked by Songz and his security team.

This, according to him, resulted in serious injuries, including fractured eye sockets and scarring, which caused him to miss work.

Songz has been ordered to pay over $11 million in damages to Dunn, who sued the singer following the 2021 incident at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas.

Despite Songz being cleared of criminal charges in April 2022, he did not respond to Dunn’s lawsuit, leading to a default judgment.

The awarded sum covers Dunn’s medical expenses, pain and suffering, and punitive damages.

Songz has yet to comment on the subject.
