Randy Moss’ son, Thaddeus Moss has criticized Larry Fitzgerald Sr. for falsely claiming his father is battling liver cancer, deeming the report as “disgusting” and an invasion of privacy.

“This is disgusting,” Thaddeus said on X. “You have no right to try to make private matters public for the sake of engagement. I do not believe my father talks to you, so check your f*****g sources.”

Fitzgerald Sr., is a prominent Twin Cities sports media figure and father of former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald Jr.

On Tuesday, the media figure claimed Randy Moss was battling cancer and faced loads of backlash from fans, leading him to delete his post.

Fitzgerald Sr’s claim comes after Moss’s recent revelation of a “personal health challenge,” which he chose not to elaborate on though he called for prayers from fans.

“Just heard that Vikings HOF Randy Moss has liver cancer. Let’s show the power of prayer and pull Moss through this. I love you, Randy,” Fitzgerald Sr. wrote on X.

The post offered no official confirmation and it has drawn loads of widespread criticism online.

Fans have defended Moss’ right to privacy and pointed out his efforts to keep the details of his health undisclosed.

“This wasn’t your story to tell, man,” one fan wrote. “You should be ashamed of yourself for posting this. To put another man’s private business out there on social media like this?”

“Jesus, dude. He specifically avoided saying what he was going through last Sunday when he was wearing shades. But you think it’s OK for you to share?” another fan commented.

Larry Fitzgerald Jr. also responded and urged his father to respect Moss’s decision to keep his health private.

“Dad, I think it’s best to respect his privacy on this,” Fitzgerald Jr. wrote. “If he feels ready to share more about his health, he will. In the meantime, let’s focus on sending him positive energy, prayers, and support rather than speculating.”

Thaddeus Moss further addressed the situation by thanking fans for their support and reiterated Fitzgerald Sr.’s claim as false.

“Brett, the support is appreciated, truly,” he wrote to one supporter. “This is not true. My father will address the world when he is ready to.”

Last week, Randy Moss announced he would step back from his role on ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown to focus on his health.

During Moss’ final appearance, he wore sunglasses and said he was “battling something internally” but did not provide any additional details.

Randy Moss’s family and fans continue to call for respect as he handles his health privately, with many playing down the weight of Fitzgerald Sr’s words.
