Jamie Foxx has sparked lots of debate online after making a bold declaration about his dating preferences in his new Netflix comedy special, ‘What Had Happened Was…’, which premiered on December 10.
Foxx performed a comedic song during the special. The 56-year-old actor joked that he’s “been cured” and is now “back on the Black side of town,” signaling that he is done dating white women.
Foxx’s words have since divided fans, with many taking to social media to question the sincerity of his song.
One X user said: “Interesting. It took a stroke???” Another commented, “Jamie funny as s**t because he lying like hell LMFAOOOOO,” while others joked that Foxx’s love life is too unpredictable to take seriously.
Foxx’s dating history is one that has been closely-monitored for decades.
He has had high-profile relationships with both Black and white women, including a six-year romance with actress Katie Holmes from 2013 to 2019.
Before that, Jamie Foxx dated actress Leila Arcieri and reports indicate that he was linked to Haitian actress Garcelle Beauvais.
Foxx also shares two daughters with former partners Corinne and psychotherapist Kristin Grannis in Connie Kline and Anelise respectively.
Foxx’s comments on being done with white women were filled with humor, yet his fans were left wondering whether his declaration was a genuine shift in perspective or simply a comedic exaggeration for the show.

The movie icon also opened up about a recent health scare and revealed he suffered a stroke caused by a brain bleed, which left him without memory for 20 days.
The actor expressed his gratitude to his daughter Anelise for playing a key role in his recovery by performing on her guitar at his hospital bedside.
To him, it was an emotional moment he described as life-saving.
