The Trump administration has signed off on another major weapons package for Ukraine, an $825 million deal that includes thousands of extended-range missiles and supporting equipment. The move comes as President Donald Trump’s attempts to mediate peace between Ukraine and Russia show little progress.
The State Department confirmed on Thursday that Congress has been formally notified of the sale, which covers 3,350 Extended-Range Attack Munition (ERAM) missiles paired with 3,350 GPS navigation units, as well as spare parts, training, and technical support.
According to the department, Ukraine will finance the deal using a mix of U.S. foreign military assistance and contributions from European partners including Denmark, the Netherlands, and Norway.

“This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States by improving the security of a partner country that is a force for political stability and economic progress in Europe,” the department said in its statement.

The timing of the announcement is notable. Russia has intensified strikes against Ukraine even after President Donald Trump met Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier this month in Alaska to urge a negotiated end to the three-year war.
This package follows two earlier U.S. arms proposals in July: a $322 million deal aimed at bolstering Ukraine’s air defenses and armored vehicles, and a $330 million agreement covering additional air defense systems along with repair and overhaul of self-propelled artillery units.
