U.S. First lady Melania Trump appealed for calm and togetherness on Tuesday, weighing in as tensions continued to simmer after federal agents fatally shot two civilians in Minneapolis.
Speaking during a live appearance on Fox & Friends, Mrs. Trump stressed the need for cooperation at all levels of leadership, pointing to ongoing talks aimed at preventing further unrest.
“We need to unify… I know my husband, the president, had a great call yesterday with the governor [Tim Walz] and the mayor [Jacob Frey], and they’re working together to make it peaceful and without riots,” Mrs. Trump said in the exclusive interview.

She also issued a direct plea to demonstrators, urging restraint as protests happen.
“I’m against violence so, please, if you protest, protest in peace.”
Apart from the situation in Minnesota, the first lady addressed the hardship facing communities battered by a severe winter storm that swept across multiple states, triggering dangerous cold, ice-covered roads, heavy snowfall and widespread power outages.
“I feel deep compassion for the people who are impacted by this storm. I know the federal government is working hard to provide assistance to all who need it. As Americans, we need to help each other and come together in these difficult times,” she said.

Mrs. Trump joined the morning show from the White House as part of promotional efforts for her upcoming film, MELANIA, which is set for a global release on Friday.
The 104-minute movie offers an inside look at her life in the weeks leading up to President Donald Trump’s inauguration as the 47th president, tracing her journey from Trump Tower in New York City to Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, while also providing behind-the-scenes moments from inside the White House.
“This story was never told before, so the audience will see me – how I manage my business, my philanthropy, family preparation for the inauguration and also establishing the East Wing for the White House – how I manage all of that in 20 days prior to the inauguration,” she told Ainsley Earhardt.
Over the weekend, the first lady hosted a high-profile screening of the film at the White House, attended by a mix of political figures and invited guests.
