Ghanaian movie star Abraham Attah has made headlines, after landing a mouth-watering role in Sony-Marvel’s upcoming “Spider-Man: Homecoming” film just a few months after making his way to Hollywood with the award-winning movie “Beasts of No Nation.”

“Spider-Man: Homecoming,” which is expected to be directed by Jon Watts as the second remaking of the Spider-Man film franchise and the 16th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), will start production in the summer and hit theaters on July 7, 2017.

Recounting his experience while playing the supporting role on “Beasts of No Nation,” Attah revealed how the film landed him in trouble.

“I remember a scene when I was running and a policeman asked me to stop and kicked me because he didn’t know it was [a] movie shoot. I nearly said something to the officer when I stopped, but my director called me back. It was in a market and we were supposed to run through the market,” he said.

For his role, Attah has won various international awards, including the best male lead at the Independent Spirit Awards and the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Young Actor at the Venice film festival.
