Black Panther Director Ryan Coogler confirmed the fearless Dora Milaje leader and the Border Tribe head were actually husband and wife. In a deleted scene between the two which was released by USA Today, Okoye is furious at W’kabi and questions his loyalty for his supposedly slain friend T’Challa who was defeated in a challenge by Killmonger and thrown from the Warrior Falls.
Keep in mind that Killmonger entered Wakanda and subsequently the Tribal Council room courtesy W’Kabi. The Border Tribe head was furious at T’Challa for not bringing the murderer of his parents Ulysses Klaue back to Wakanda after his capture.
