Today marks the 47th anniversary of Louis Armstrong’s death. His renowned career is still widely lauded until today. He was in 2017 inducted into the Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame.
The composer, trumpeter and singer, affectionately called Pops, Satch, Satchmo or Louie by his fans, enjoyed a fruitful career that spanned 50 years. Some of his popular hits include “What a Wonderful World,” “Dream a Little Dream of me” and “Hello Dolly.”
Armstrong died on July 6, 1971, in Corona, New York of a heart attack.
