More and more major companies are doing business on the continent and L’Oréal is no exception. Last month L’Oréal opened it’s first Professional Salon Institute (LPASI) in Braamfontein, South Africa. The venture’s aim is to “address a shortage of professionally-trained stylists” while creating employment opportunities throughout the country.

“The L’Oréal Professional African Salon Institute” will contribute to the development of services offered to a new clientele, as well as to the creation of jobs for local talents in the hairdressing industry by responding to a shortage of professionally-trained stylists for ethnic hair. Students will be also trained in business management to enable them to open their own hair salons when they complete their training,” said Geoff Skingsley, Executive Vice President for Africa and the Middle East.

Each student has access to quality training in new functional classrooms fully stocked with premier products, instructors and prepared for industry standard requirements.
